Has your Girl Scout re-registered for fall?

Re-registered girls are invited to Council-wide event, July 14

July 2006

CampRe-registration for Girl Scouts is currently being held, so check with your daughter's troop leader right away to be sure she's registered. If she's not, it is important that a re-registration form be completed and returned, even in cases where there is a change in troop leadership. Re-registration gives your Girl Scout top priority with regards to placement, especially in areas with few adult volunteers, and gives her and her troop a jumpstart in the fall. It also allows the Council to plan for next year, work on placement issues over the summer, and helps determine the number of new leaders needed.

The Council has planned a day filled with fun hands-on activities, games, and live performances for re-registering girls and adults on Thursday, July 14, at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. With over 30 booths and activities such as cheerleading, dancing, storytelling, martial arts and more, the event is sure to be a lot of fun.

Cost is $3 per participant, which includes a hot dog, chips and juice box lunch (no outside food allowed). Girls are also asked to bring a nonperishable food item as a service to Second Harvesters Food Bank, on the day of the event. make sure to complete the reservation form and mail in your fees.
