Outdoor Training Courses
Outdoor Living Skills Part I
The tools and techniques learned in this course will prepare adults for outdoor activities such as day outings, hiking, simple cookouts, and nature exploration. Leaders learn how to effectively manage girl activities in the out-of-doors. This course does NOT cover all skills necessary for troop overnight camping.
Required for: Adults leading girls in beginning outdoor activities.

Outdoor Living Skills Part II A
This course is the planning session for OLS II B that will be held at Camp Whispering Pines. You will review skills learned in OLS I and be placed in your planning patrol group for the II B session. This course must be completed before attending the OLS II B.
Required for: Adults taking girls overnight in the out-of-doors or troop camping.
Prerequisite: Completion of Outdoor Living Skills Part I and a day outing with girls that includes a cookout. A completed "Day Outing Assignment" form must accompany registration for this course.

Outdoor Living Skills Part II B
The tools and techniques learned in this course will prepare adults for leading girls in overnight outdoor activities. Leaders learn how to effectively manage girls in expanded outdoor activities such as overnight camping, different outdoor cooking methods, topography, compass, etc.
Required for: Adults taking girls overnight in the out-of-doors or troop camping.
Prerequisite: Completion of Outdoor Living Skills Part I & Part II A.

Outdoor Living Skills Parts I & II Overnight
This course allows individuals to take advantage of completing their training in one weekend instead of over several weeks/months. This will also allow you and your girls to get out there and enjoy overnight camping. This course offers all the content of the Outdoor Living Skills Part I & II course PLUS the opportunity to explore our camps, learn after-dark activities, campfire programming and tent camping.
This course consists of two sessions a mandatory planning session and the overnight course. You must register for a planning session and attend the entire overnight session to receive credit for the course.
Pre-requisite: Module I and Age level training suggested but not required
Bring: Planning session – pencil or paper, Leader Resource Manual, Safety Wise;
Outdoor Education in Girl Scouting and Pocket Stew
Overnight session – Packing list will be given out during planning sessions
Cost: $5 nonrefundable, to cover cost of supplies.
